I love the fact that they have discovered a genuine way of auctioning instruments of legendary musicians. Everyone's got a shot here, not only Japanese businessmen.

Two thumbs up!

Quite surprising that the Strat is at the top with 22k currently. Nick Cave at 13k, EC at 4k. He loves to deny it, but he’s still a guitar hero.

Can't see anything genuine in it, the guitar still could easily end up at some Japanese businessmen who threw enough cash to get enough 'tokens'. That's pretty typical marketing BS and in giveaways like this you can giveaway practically anything, cars, guitars, property, the amount of active bidders will always be enough to make profit. In this case, thankfully, the cause itself is good.

I'v never ever won anything in random giveaways. Imagine 10, 20, 30 thousand people in line and what a chances that you'll win? Basically 0. I'm more in line with contests where you need to actually do something, like this contest where you could shoot a music video for MK, that was bananas! But random giveaways is a complete waste of time and money. Bid only if you're in with the charity, you'll never win this guitar.

Why being so pessimistic, Pavel? Everyone has the chance to be the winner even you and me and everyone else who made a donation. So, let's think positiv which is btw the best you can do to survive this crazy world   :wave

You're confusing being realistic with being pessimistic.

Over 30,000 already and seems like the percentage counter is now over, it now says 101%, I hope it would reach at least 100,000 by the end of it. Impressive that Mark has such a loyal fan base, more loyal and generous than all these other fine artists.

Now I'm interested in why this guitar even exists. I mean, why on Earth MK needs a separate Stratocaster to play One Every Street? What is so special, hard or quirky that he needs a whole new guitar to play it? It says the guitar was strung with 0.010 strings, okay, so that means his main Strat is something like 0.09 maybe. Interesting, why even bother, to me this is a typical "because I can" type of thing. He can use a new guitar for each song, so why not :lol

Another reason could be that Postcards is played at capo 6 and is followed by OES. No time to retune after removing the capo :)

Doesn't he use 9s on Strats that he plays, or, used to play, fast stuff on, such as Sultans? For more straight-ahead fingerpicking, the stuff you'd do on an acoustic guitar, I'd think 10s would feel and sound better.
