Been to 4 NHB shows (5 if you include 2002) and they were all amazing, especially the 2 at Ronnie Scott's.

Which 2002 concert did you attend Dusty?

Well, I wouldn't kill to get crimson  ;D why I'd kill to have at least one goddam soundboard recording of one of these shows !!

Back on topic, I re-watched the Romeo and Juliet ending part that Richard plays instead of Mark. The occasion of a lifetime for him and it's pretty moving indeed, as JF pointed out in his article.

Hmm, you know I'm not sure what night I attended. I want to say the Thursday?!

I could work it out from a recording as I shouted something at my cousin Bobby when he was introduced.

PS No one ever called NHB a supergroup.

That was a very unique and poignant action from MK...

The Thursday is the night when they recorded / filmed the show, the best gig of the four, I believe.

Is Bobby really your cousin? Well I'm sure he / you must have some anecdotes about MK and Co to tell us!  ;D

No.  They were just old friends from Leeds and one of them became a superstar!

I thought it was more or less a kind of recurring joke  :hmm

OK now, can you ask your cousin to give me Mark's phone number? There are two-three things that I'd like to tell him  ;D

He is no longer in touch with MK, after MK replaced him with a fellow baldy.

Yes I know. I like John Mc C. but I liked Bobby V. very much. Another suspect replacement by MK…  :hmm

And Stuart Duncan was also very very cool IMO.

Quite a bizarre show for him in all honesty.  Personally I've never been a fan of these minimalistic shows he does but they are interesting.

Would you regard NHB concerts as bizarre?    I just wonder, because to me they are in a similar vein - a very relaxed MK with jokes thrown in and the audience having a great time.    Great music too!   :)

Just bizarre in the sense that he flew across the Atlantic to perform a single show with no drummer with some of his songs for the very first time.  I think the Hillbillies were very different.  :)
