Sorry folks, I love you all, but that's utterly rubbish and an offence to the people with real talent.

LE

On second thoughts, explain yourself with this very rude comment  :disbelief

LE

Perhaps you would like to show us all what you can do on the guitar?

I especially enjoyed TOL very much btw.

You don't need to be a professional chef to say the food is good though. LE might be too honest, though I understand what he means.

There are ways of being honest without being unkind.  ;)

But LE doesn't seem to give a toss of late, he is plainly downright rude. I've just about had enough of his negativeness and so I might well jack this forum in....

Back on thread, LE owes Joe a huge apology for adding a very rude comment on his thread!

I think LE just meant that by commenting every guy with decent playing having "talent" cheapens the term "talent" and he meant just that, no offense intended.

UPD: And so, Joe, please don't get offended. We have not only a lot of talented people here, but a lot of brutally honest people (myself included), and often get in battles here, and that's okay. I think Mark's music needs to be played and you don't claim anything, so why not, keep Knopflering and having fun.

1. Who was Joe again? I don't know who you talk about.

2. Knopflerfan please stop to behave as if this is your private own forum. It's utterly hard to stand of late that every single comment from anybody is commented by you as if you have too much time on your hand. If you feel offended by me just block me in your account  and don't comment on me.

3. I don't play the guitar and it has nothing to do with my comment if I do or not.

4. I wasn't rude.

5. My comment was not targeted to you and your beloved signed guitars but to the quote that Quizzy made. It's indeed rubbish to say that every man with a beating heart has talent. That is indeed in my opinion an offence to every man with real talent whatsoever and I stand by it. I agree that it obviously looks like and it was a mistake that I did not quote the post I meant. I did not mean the original poster but Quizzy's quote. I have not even watched the videos in this thread and I was the first one (when you were not around yet) to state that the amount of talent in this forum is really great and astonishing.

6. I was not able to answer within seconds to your strange comments as I have a real life and was at work and was totally astonished by the avalange of posts you put out.

7. I think you are not the right person to critize if a member behaved right or wrong as I feel your point of view is not the one who should be needed to guide a forum. Ask Pottel how it's done. He knows best. Or Dusty.

I see now who Joe is and can assure him that my coment was NOT targeted to you. I have not watched your videos yet but I will. And if you go through my post history you will see that I am always the first to empower and salute and encourage young and new members here and that there is not a single comment from me where I ever commented negative on contributions like songs videos or clips that any member made, but the opposite. I just love what comes up here from new and young members.

Well, I was just wrong with my statement. I meant that beating heart means that everybody can learn how to play music, not that everybody with a heart has musical talent. That's, undoubtedly, rubbish. But it's true that anyone can learn to play something regardless and there are no people who "can't" unless it's a physical disability. And surely it's a strange thing to start a war on :lol Next time please just be more precise, LE, you know there are a lot of sensitive people here.

Harsh comments were made by me in the past only about MK and his last tour and album, not about any single forum member, and I will go on doing so whenever I feel like it.

Steve, your comments are appreciated obviously by a lot of people around  here, so there is no need to be so strict and say goodbye, at least it's what you are suggesting if I get it right. Just block me and avoid my postings and everything is fine. You will not change your mind about me and my "crap" (rude!) but feel free to post whatever you want if it helps you. I will not cross your paths anymore.

LE has clarified what he meant, he didn’t insult anyone so let’s just move on.

As far as I can see the only person that has come out of this debacle with their head held high is Joe and I hope he will keep posting on this forum!
