so he battled cancer. i remember someone in one of the earlier entries here mentioning he did not seem to be doing well or something along those lines. that may explain that.
Loved this interview, seeing him play the pretenders riffs with the guy on acoustic who could not believe his luck, was AWESOME. great player.

Ah that explains a lot poor guy. We went through a time of seeing him LIVE quite a lot in local theatres here 'down South' - where he lives incidentally...
