[Boom Like That]

Hi everyone, I'm sure you've all heard the exciting news about the Mark Knopfler Guitar Collection, selling at Christie's London in January. I'm one of the specialists that have been working on the auction and specifically have been dealing with the epic task of trying to find photographs of Mark playing these guitars on stage.  We are struggling to find a few photographs and hope you might be able to help before the catalogue goes to print in a week or so! Please get in touch with me cgraham@christies.com if you were at these concerts and have photographs of any of the following, as we would be very interested in licensing them for the catalogue:

Pensa/Suhr "R" Custom prototype, red with black pickguard, used during the On Every Street Tour 1991-92 for performances of 'Two Young Lovers'. I know there are two photos posted on oneverybootleg.nl but the photographers are unknown. If you were the photographer of one of the following shots, get in touch

MK Signature Stratocaster with Danelectro "lipstick" pickups, used for a duet of 'Forever Young' with Bob Dylan at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on 21 November 2011. I know there are videos on youtube but these are quite low resolution for screenshot/catalogue use.



Also if anyone attended 2008 meet and greets, we are looking for a photo of the double bass in use - probably played by Glenn Worf.

If I understand correctly the information, is it possible to visit the guitars on display in Christie's at London, freely? Or is needed to get tickets, reservation etc?

Would remain the guitars on display after the public sale for a period of time or that would be closed after the sale?

Yes of course, everyone is welcome to visit - it is free entry, no reservations required (all Christie's exhibitions are free entry) and we even have free barista coffee in the lobby. The exhibition will close on 30th Jan, with the auction following on 31st Jan, so the guitars will not be on display after the sale.

Would it be possible to buy the catalogue there?

yes! as long as they don't sell out... so I would say it's a bit risky if you were coming on the last day, but if you are planning to visit in the first week I think you should be fine to get a catalogue. This is why we have a catalogue pre-order, so we can gauge demand and increase our print run if there is a large pre-order. You could also try calling Christie's reception and paying for a catalogue over the phone, they should be able to put it aside for you under the desk until you pick it up.
