For anyone who missed it, here’s the (short) bit with MK: https://youtu.be/2bnhdrTIoF4?si=0wWtnkYa-dicdfhL

The clip/recording I uploaded is a bit rough and ready, mainly because I opted for speed to get this up as quickly as possible.

Thanks for your time!

It seems that Ken Bruce was not really aware about the "single" and the album being two totally different things...

How is this possible?
I know the way I can see by the moonlight
Clear as the day
Now come on woman, come follow me home

It's quite crazy to hear Mark acknowledging he wanted, and fans wanted, him to record something with Jeff Beck, and yet, in all these years, with his own studio, he hasn't managed to do it before Jeff died. You can probably write a whole book on things Mark wanted to do in his life, but never got around to doing it. Let's wait another 10 years, maybe Mark will record something properly with David Gilmour, provided they both will be alive at this point!

Busy scheduke for both and everybody has priorities among the many things they wish to do.

Mark did Chet, Emmylou, Brendan and Steve, Eric, Hank, Bill and others collaborations, so not regret as he could not be everywhere.
There are more people you want to record with than life can afford you.

In my opinion, Mark is a very good collaborator, and unless it's just another "please record some typical Mark Knopfler guitar licks for my song over the Internet so I'll sell more copies of it" type of collaboration, it elevates the level of everybody involved. I already said that Mark's album with Chet is easily Chet's best-sounding record he's ever done, which is funny considering his long career and experience and the low budget of their collaboration.

Sure, Mark did a lot and you can't change the history anyway, it's fun to imagine all these non-existent collaborations though.
