Wasn't going to watch it but someone posted it on Facebook so I gave it a look.  Mark looked empty and Jools had to keep prompting him.  Pretty worrying tbh.   :'(
Utter bollocks man.
He always takes a moment to answer questions which doesn't make for great telly.
Nobody who has health issues is going to "get better" in their mid 70s.
If he was so poorly he wouldn't be able to do any promo.
Whatever is wrong with him is none of our business and to speculate on it(seemingly every day on this forum) is frankly rather pathetic.

BBC iplayer is playing silly bees again because I'm on the continent :-(

Searching on the net I came across "Waterbound", MK with Jools from November 2018 - never heard it before. What a beautiful song!

Watch the interview with him and Ed Bicknell in Sydney 85, it’s like having your teeth pulled out. That would be more fun, he is what he is. Why are we worried about a 74 year old getting old. We’re all heading that way. Unless I find the fountain of youth.

I think it’s a Mike McGoldrick song from his 2010 album Aurora. Interesting if Mark has chosen to cover it!

Me either!
That's how he is. He always took his time to answer a question. Even when he was younger. I think that's better than someone who talks a lot and only comes out with nonsense.
It's interesting how we see things differently.
Apart from that I have the feeling Mark really is enjoying the Interviews and all the attention he gets since the release of ODR and he really deserves it!

I believe it was written by Dirk Powell

Nice recording!
The song seems to a traditional, though: https://tunearch.org/wiki/Annotation:Waterbound

The Dirk Powell "Waterbound" is a different song.

I saw Dirk perform the song at Transatlantic Sessions a few years ago and it was really beautiful, but MK's version is extra special!  :)

Yes, it’s the same song. Mike McGoldrock also recorded it in one of his solo albums
