Maybe it's like Dusty says: >It's a niche within a niche<
Maybe it's always been this way  ;)

Always.

This is a bit like discovering that the sun doesn't revolve around Earth after all, isn't it?  :lol

Well it wasn’t always that way.

Brothers in Arms was the biggest thing on the planet. At a time when there were lots of big things.

Solo career, not so much.

Here’s an exclusive link to Ed being interviewed about MK’s solo career.

BIA was an anomaly, though. And a fluke. Without that album Dire Straits, and Mark, would have been forgotten a long time ago. But like I said in another thread, calling Mark a silent fart, Mark chose that path for his solo career. That's why I think it's funny, really, that the die hard fans talk about lost opportunities when speaking of anniversary versions of his solo albums. Where is the market? Even the release of the DS live albums is pretty questionable as far as I'm concerned. As lovely as it was to hear the Rainbow show, how many people outside the die hards bother?

When talking about the niche that MK created, I was thinking about his solo albums.

Who cares how many people “bother”? If you’re going to release something at all, do it properly. On Apple music, the streaming versions of this one are still missing the title track atmos version, amateur stuff after time and money would’ve been well spent making it!

But One More Matinee doesn't have an instrumental intro. It begins with the words:

Here's one of the two of us...

Of course, I'm talking about the original CD album. I don't have any vinyl albums.

A weird thing on streaming platforms, at least Amazon Music...

Amazon Music has a lot of music in atmos, but the STP record only have in that streaming platform the following songs in Atmos, the rest just in HD:

- Baloney Again
- Silvertown Blues
- Speedway at Nazareth
- Sands of Nevada
- One More Matinee

Very weird.
