The Chris White Experience (Zombies former member)
« on: September 10, 2025, 10:46:15 PM »
I don't know if there is already a topic about this, but accidentally I came across those two compilations by Chris White, that seemingly have some MK involvement.

https://www.discogs.com/release/29121013-The-Chris-White-Experience-The-Chris-White-Experience-Volume-Five
On Ghosts by Brian Cullman  it is audible,

while this seems to be a new version of safety also by Brian Cullman, which original version comes from a rare 70ies record

So, Chris White claims that he did original DS demos...

Maybe he was asked to be producer of the first record, and got the demos before?

Fascinating stuff.  Can't work out timings from that interview.  Is he talking about the first demos?

Most probably it is for their debut album and the unreleased song could be suicide towers.
The previous released Safety version, does not have MK on guitar, https://youtu.be/AvU1f71JkSc?si=6liOw65OtZh1yGVB
It has an Al Stewart, Dylanesue but with nice vocals quality.

Ed has asked me to say he asked MK about these claims about the demos, and MK said they are entirely false, complete rubbish.

Can you add that no demo was made for “suicide towers. “
M was sharing a flat with me at the Barbican in London where he wrote it about the place.
Funny. V accurate.
The song bit the dust very quickly and thankfully. It was as bad as the place!

Thanks Ed. Proves that you are on speaking terms. Why not have a drink together?

One wonders what's up with some people to bring up stories and obvious lies like this.. Just to make things more interesting?

I don't want no sugar in it, thank you very much!

The Barbican is shown in the Arena doc I think. Brutalist architecture.

Thank you Mr. Bicknell!

So Chris White made all these things up about the demos. It is weird, to go public with such claims that can be refuted by the artist. They should at least  learn to wait until there is no such possibility.  ;)

At least MK was in these two recordings, or wasn't he?  ;D

When I visited London Barbican seemed fascinating in a gloomy Orwell way. But I wonder how things look  from the inside looking out.

I went to see Steve Earle at The Barbican and like you say, the flats seemed fascinating in a Clockwork Orange sort of way. London is completely transformed now from the 70s though. Either way, seems likely Ed's flat in The Barbican was nicer than John and David's flat in Deptford!

PS The Barbican as a venue is fantastic.

The Barbican is fantastic and I think an expensive place to live.
A few celebrities have apartments there.

Isn't there a drummer no one has heard of that also claims to have been in Dire Straits?
