Hm, I have a few pictures (from the web) which I though to be from the Old Waldorf gig, but Mark is wearing different clothes there (a red shirt). I have seen pics with this shirt before, too.

Well, I think they played two gigs a night there so both can be right of course.

You are brilliant in finding "new" old pictures it seems :)

A bit better in quality, and you might see the amp settings...

Where is it from, maybe it exists in better resolution?

You can find the image at http://www.corbisimages.com but the strange thing is that they say the picture is from 1 april 1979.

@ingo you can buy a better quality image at 2470px

Maybe that's because the second half of the latter show lasted after 00:00 on April 1st.  :-)

But who's the extra drummer here?  And is David sharing a mic with John?

John usually stood to the left of Mark, perhaps this is two images merged as is often done with a medium format camera that shoots 6x6 or square images.  This would explain the "two" drum kits.  Doesn't explain why David is there though, unless maybe he had a technical problem with his mic.

2 images merged together?
Looks like the left drummer is blad and maybe has a beard.
And is that even David? Looks like that guy has blond hair...?

Arrgs, I registered at Corbis and really was willing to pay to get the picture in high resolution, but they want 70,-

D'oh!  Of course it's not.  I just read David above it and quite often for panoramic shots a photographer will merge 2 images.
Well it was early and I was rushing to go to work!

To that other picture: They are obviously jamming with the support act, something they often did during the encores.

I see, kinda surprising to me.
Then how come (if my memory serves right) it isn't captured on any early bootlegs?

OK, maybe 'often' is not the best word here. I have no idea how often they jammed with a support act.

At least, on these pictures it was Barooga Bandit:
http://www.motorcityrock.com/bands/barooga_bandit/barooga_bandit.html

I know that they also did a jam with Ian Gomm on  the September '79 US tour.

Maybe they did not do a jam when they recorded the show for the radio like March 31, 1979, but the pics here are from the next day April 1 (according to Corbis), but you are right, I don't know of a bootleg on which we hear them doing this.

So we are missing a bootleg from april 1st? Should be cool to hear this. Always thought march 31st was the only date in Old Waldorf.
