About Hank Marvin, whatever imaginary celestial creatures or whatever you choose to believe, to be kind is the correct thing to do. If religion makes you being an ass, then it says it all.
I'm sorry for you, Dusty, what a disappointment.
Dunno... This story Dusty shared has this... duality about it. On the one hand, to expect a young kid to know what "Jehova’s Witness" is, let alone that they don't celebrate birthdays, AND to know that Hank Marvin is a devout Jehovah's Witness is obviously too much for any human being and he could behave a lot better in this situation.
However, two opposing facts to me are: having a gig on a birthday is a giant red flag. Don't know about others, but I tend to have a day off on my birthday because I don't want to spend it working, you know. You need to be a very special kind of a guy to work on a birthday, and I'm not one of them.
And the second thing I thought about... Man, this situation really shows how much he really cares about his faith, if nothing can't stop him. I think it deserves some respect, whether you consider his religion wrong or don't like it. The man is devoted and doesn't attack your religion and seldom promotes his own, so it's really something. Gotta respect the guy.
