Need to hear the full version of this song because this edit is VERY repetitive . And to be blunt not that good a song on hearing this version. Kinda takes me back to when I first heard TLWNF.......underwhelmed.

Ps. Seems to be an MK protest song about Beryl Bainbridge not getting a booker prize for literature whilst she was alive.... Or maybe I'm way off the mark.

Anyway listening to it now - great song!! Just that squeaky organ is a little annoying

Yeah, it's cale-stylish, like also the little bit of Hank Marvin style playing at about 1:53, only one or two notes.
And i correct anything what i've said about the rhythm. My comp wasn't connected with the boxes and theefore the bass was missing. But now it's something different. It's really astonishing how important bass is 
@goldenheart: you need a bass box, so the organ isn't dominant anymore.

A one-off prize... Hmm. Frustrating indeed... Just read her wikipedia entry. She mainly wrote History novels which explains MK's interest.

What I really like about the production is the contrast between the wet guitar (lots of delay/reverb for MK fingerpicking style) and the dry drums/bass/acoustic guitar. Can't wait to listen to this record on full quality, the drums sound incredible detailed. The organ reminds me of Punish The Monkey.
