There is this question about how many songs they are rehearsing at Guy's forum, and he answered "32". And in the next post Guy assures us that he was not kidding. So this made me thinking: 32 songs? I tried and made a list, composed out of the last years' set lists including promotion tours since 2005. It is not a list I wish he would play but a list that I would probably expect from them to be played: And I discovered: 32 songs isn't that much. Coincidentally, there was an interview in a german newspaper today (Pforzheimer Zeitung). It contained not much new stuff. But he tells again that he doesn't like to play Money for Nothing anymore, but loves Romeo and Brothers more than ever. Nevertheless, I think they do probably rehearse them as well, perfectionists that they are:
Cannibals
why aye man
(Walk of Life)
what it is
sailing to philadelphia
true love will never fade
the fish and the bird
hill farmer's blues
romeo and juliet
sultans of swing
marbletown
song for sonny liston
postcards from paraguay
Done with Bonaparte
Donnegan's gone
Daddy's gone to knoxville
rudiger
speedway at nazareth
telegraph road
(Money For Nothing)
brothers in arms
our shangri-la
so far away
why worry
If this is goodbye
Get Lucky
(was played during showcases 2009)SPOILER SONG FROM MATT (I better edited it, I thought everybody knew this song already...

)
So there is place for five to seven new songs to be rehearsed. Of course this all is pure speculation because the could skip any song anytime, but I don't think that is very likely.
Rehearsal Speculations:
The Man's Too Strong
(mentioned 2008)On Every Street
(mentioned 2003)Portobello Belle (
rehearsed 2001, my absolute live dream track! Imagine! Matt on accordion...)and maybe one or two songs from KTGC that got played during Showcases, like
The Fizzy and The Still
Let It All Go
So this leaves place for maybe two to four other Get Lucky songs.
So, we will see what happens. I think the prospect of a absolute new, very varied concert isn't too great in my opinion...

But I feel the tension coming more and more every day, counting the days!
