I think every single one is very respectfull towards MK. To show that: In the streets of Edinburgh (during the tour 2008) I was looking into some shop, when I turned around to go on walking through the shoppingstreet I literally bumped to Glenn Worf. I said hi to him and moved on, just 10 meters further MK was standing there waiting for Glenn to return. I just did as if I didn't see him. He was in private time, walking around the city.
For me: doing a M&G every now and then, do some CD-signing belongs to his job. Not when he is walking around in the city but when he enters the venue for the soundcheck a quick stop for his true fans isn't too much.

I have to say the first time I met MK he was very relaxed, from all the people in the row waiting for an autograph, he pointed at me and asked me to come first. What a day. ;D

But I want my M&G!!!! :lol That would be the 2nd time meeting MK. :D

He was very nice to me though in 2008.   He stopped his Mercedes in the middle of a very busy Newcastle street to say hello and ask how I was! :)   It was a bit embarrassing, because it was rush hour and all the traffic was hooting their horns behind him!   :o   Danny told me some time later that he thought he recognized me from somewhere!

Aaahhmm, has really nearly everbody in this forum met MK in person?? :o Just wondering... :lol

I agree Ingrid, that fans are mostly respectful of MK.   When we were at Hay-on-Wye he was walking around the festival ground amongst the crowds with his wife and daughter all weekend and no-one approached him as far as I could see.   When I was in the library tent buying Kitty's book, he was standing only a few feet away from me and I would have loved to have approached him, but he was talking to someone and I think it would have been an intrusion.  I actually did bump into him in the tent (literally), but didn't notice who it was until my husband told me!   ;D

Of course! ;D Once before the Amsterdam showcase in 2007 after waiting a couple of hours in the rain... Had a first row seat too! (for some reason, the first row was empty) :-\ I met DK several times (he's always in a good mood it seems) and perhaps later this year (if he's touring again). ;D

LE I didn't meet Mark or other band members yet, but then I think I am the baby of the family considering concerts of Mark or DS in the past!  Uuuhhh did I say baby of the family........well I better say a 51 year old baby then!  ;D ...I have been to one concert in 2008, and will attend 2 concerts with hubby this year.

Of course I would LOOOOVE to meet Mark and the others! I envy all the people who met them already, but I have to be patient and perhaps wait 10 or 20 years as other did before I will meet him ......OR ........I have to think about a plan to get Mark's attention!!! Perhaps some ladies still remember the wonderful plan we were talking about at MKnews a few years ago? ROFL ......I think it was something about wearing sexy tight t'shirts and flashing in front of Mark?  :o ..............I am not sure anymore but it might be that those messages were deleted, because they were too funny!  ;D

I'm just putting lipstick on the pig

love this expression!  ;D

never heard it before!

Shame there aren't M&G this time but to be honest, although I appreciated being able to shake his hand last time, I didn't enjoy the experience so much. Seeing him go round signing autographs and posing for photos, reminded me of  a circus animal being shown around.

I'd love to have a lion in my back garden or a dolphin in my swimming pool, these animals are truly beautiful, but they don't belong there, they belong in the wild. MK belongs on stage! (and in the studio)

(now, for the drool gang, how about MK in my swimming pool?  ;D)

Hej!
Oh yes, English is not my mother tongue, but I found that expression very descriptive!  ;D

By the way, there seem to be a lot of artists who doesn't behave appropriately all the time. This morning I stumbled across this story: http://www.chrisrea.nl/community/viewtopic.php?f=1&p=10148#p10148

So "they" are only humans after all - sometimes even rude human beings.

I'm really sorry to hear that about Chris.  I always thought of him as one of the nice, kind, caring guys.   :-\

this incident doesn't mean he isn't. Everybody can have a bad day. I was very rude to my neighbour the other day....

Hey of course that is a great idea Nat! ;D  Being the lady of the house, you sure will be too busy with preparing drinks and food, meanwhile I will keep Mark and the guys busy laying next to them in our comfortable chairs at the swimming pool!  :P

Yup a really good idea!  ;D

LoveExpresso -- No, I have not met MK.
I've been a fan since 1978, but I've had only one chance to meet him -- I was inches away from him -- but he looked so tired, I just couldn't bother him.

He did wave back to me in 1985 at Chicago Poplar Creek concert, just after this picture was taken. He was looking up into the crowd of 27,000 but saw me waving my arm side to side from the fifth row. Everyone around me was sitting down. He smiled, I smiled, he waved by waggling his fingers with his hand still up to his forehead, I waved, he smiled, I smiled.

I have met Guy, Glenn, Richard, Matt and Danny.
Picture is from 2005 Vegas, taken by Matt's stepdad.

Thanks, that is indeed a very nice picture! You really can see how friendly and decent those guys are... It lifts my heart to know that MK surrounds himself
with such nice guys. I think the band "chemistry" is better than ever.

But of course it must have been a real pleasure for them to get photographed with such a delightful and friendly lady! ;)  :-*

All the best!
