Who are we to judge?

Trust the man who has been on the road since the late 70's -  before many forumers were even born!

Mark may not build the GL setlist around the musical tastes of a needy few, but I bet he knows better than most what songs are going to go down well with the great majority who attend his gigs. He constructs his list accordingly, and heh - whadaya know,  all his shows are then sellouts! Give it a rest and Mark a break. He knows, and the team around him know, what is needed to make a great setlist and tour.

Sorry to be a bit in your face, but all this moaning about the tour is pissing me off.

If anything at all we should have a thread: "songs we want to hear" but this is kind of negative isn't it? :)

The issue I think is that we buy our tickets in anticipation of what we hope we will see and hear. The sellouts come before the concerts, not during or after.

I agree that the setlist will represent what he thinks will go down well with the majority of attendees at the concerts and that is where we must trust his opinion.

However we are still entitled to our opinions and if we pay good money then we have the right to speak our minds as long as it is not offensive.

To suggest that this right is subdued is akin to being in a dictatorship not the democracy that has already been mentioned.

Plus the thread has induced some positivity in that people are suggesting songs they want to hear :-)

We can all like someone yet at the same time, disagree with them or feel aggrieved at something they have done. I do it with my wife all the time:-)

No it isn't! But on Guy's Site you would get a giant AAAARRGH!!!
So they are "up to something", and a "minority" isn't able to understand what especially that is... That's from some of Guy's answers lately. I think the only thing they are up to is changing the set list every day. If it were so, and it seems there are no two similar set lists from show #1 on, it would really be great! You then would have a certain moment of surprise, within the 17 songs from which you 14 already have heard live 50 times, two or three songs would really be changes! For me, that would be enough to get enjoyed by it!

draad, as much as i understand your stand, this is the nature of forums. no need to hope people will change their ways, coz they want. all i can advice is ignore the negative bits.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Sorry LE - I meant nicely said in the sense of us still being entitled to our opinions...

This and any forum will have positive and negative things, so I think everybody should accept that - it's human nature, as sure as the sunrise :-) !

Oh, no problem on this side! I have a great feeling all over all about this whole stuff since tour start...  The only thing that bothers me is that I am spending far too much hours in front of my laptop which has to mean something... So MK has of course a big impact on my daily life!

I was not negative but a little worried when I decided to buy the RAH tickets because I am a little bit superstitious when it comes to travel :disbelief: When I wanted to go to RAH in 2003, the accident happened. Now this damned volcano thing is worrying me - not the today's ashcloud, but the second, bigger volcano that is somehow connected to this one and hasn't  erupted since 1918 or so.. and is overdue...

So if I am sitting in the RAH on May 30th, MK can play what he wants - I will be happy...

... apart from Rudiger..... ;)

wonder if Joe Brown, Hank Marvin, Paul Brady or anybody else might make an appearance at the Albert Hall? Now there would be something different to what we've heard about so far...
