Trawlerman's Song, Melbourne 12/03/2005 (joke [?] before)
« on: May 07, 2010, 10:45:24 PM »
Hi there!

Is there anyone who understands that - certainly dry - joke he tells from 0:43 on:

All i understand is, that he swallowed a golf ball and thanks to the doctor in Melbourne and a chicken soup (later) he's fine again?!

Oh dear, hard to understand what he's saying.
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.

Well, first of all he is already saying "bequests" in this clip from 2005, who would have thought!

"My throat is alright, actually there was a golf ball in there, that's what the doc said (and then he imitates in a very funny manner the Australian doc  "You got a bloody golf ball in there, mate" - It's still in there, I gotta thank the doc,(...) I gonna thank Libby Becker for the lovely chicken soup that really helped, Libby!" - Libby Becker of Melbourne, thank you very much!"

Mark was ill during the first part of the 2005 tour, he had a sore throat for many shows. It was right from the beginning that his voice suffered from this I remember.

Hope this helps? I am just from Germany, so maybe some English spoken people can correct this...

Hey, thanks for clearing that. Now it makes sense to me.
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.
