The show must go on?

...not for everybody apparently

It was supposed to be the most memorable performance in Glastonbury's history, but Bono has been left "heartbroken" after U2 were forced to cancel their headline slot at this year's festival following the singer's back injury last week. Organisers confirmed that U2 would have to pull out earlier today, saying: "We are just gutted, it is really terribly sad."

The singer is following medical advice to cancel forthcoming performances after undergoing emergency surgery for severe compression of the sciatic nerve

Obviously I do not know the extend of his injury compared to MK's but I feel lucky to have tickets to see him rather than them!

Of course MK didn't have to undergo surgery (did he?), so I guess Bono is quite a bit worse.

No doubt this decision will cost them millions so I doubt it will have been taken lightly.

MK could fill in at Glastonbury (if he reschedules one of his German shows) :)

I don't think, so yes, I guess it's worse but still...

(I quite like U2 by the way and would love to see them live, I'm glad I wasn't planning to see them this summer)

I used to like U2 but I really think they believe their own hype these days. Saw them live in 97, it was a good show but really they had jumped the shark by that time. Wouldn't bother now.

But The Joshua Tree is a fantastic album.

I like them in the eighties, haven't paid much attention since.... I can't comment on our man from the waterline comment, as I don't know Bono personnally, but I like his music (or like it in the eighties, maybe I should check out what he's done since).

I'm told that it was a serious back injury. Bono apparently fell off a stage when he got too close to the Edge. 8)

OK. I will ignore everything you say on this subject!  ;D

Sometimes you just hate people for no reason, even people you've never met and never will (hopefully for them) Me it's Jeremy Clarkson's face I'd like to slap.
