Just a little thing about Emmylou

I noticed in the Dublin concert that she sticked the set-lsit in his guitar (with MK tour) and I See in this pics that she is doing it in his own solo shows!!!!
You might get lucky, now and then

Though probably one of the older forum members, I'm probably also the youngest in terms of length of time I've been a fan ( :(). So I'm only hearing and seeing stuff now that you guys are all familiar with. Last night I saw for the first time the DVD Real Live Roadrunning. Wow! Emmy was able to make Mark's songs even better. Speedway better?? - yep she managed to make it so. Talking of Speedway, I loved watching Danny in the outro. There's one bit where he purses his lips, blows them out, and his face says "I'm into this big-time". He then mouths something, which was probably "yeah!", but it might have been something more rude! Brilliant!! He must be as fit as a butcher's dog that man. And all the time Mark is grooving away on the guitar like it's easy, and watching all the other band members play their parts, and a big smile for Emmy at the end. Must go downstairs and watch it again! :)

ROFL Draad, I was for a long time the baby of this family, but it seems I got a little brother
now! ;D I know the feeling discovering everything and to be honest, I still discover new things about Mark!

With the CD there is also a little lyrics book and I was reading it today. You know what?

Glen, OUR nice and sweet Glen Worf is playing bass at some songs too!! Yeaaahhhhhh!  ;D He is playing at these songs:
- Hold On; Broken Man's Lament; Gold (great song with Dolly Parton too)

Glen as well as Richard Bennett nice and sweet also as we know, are playing at these songs also:
-  All That You Have Is Your Soul (beautiful one!); Take That Ride;

It is great to see these artists back at the album of Emmy, I really recommend to listen to this one!  ;D

And then this special song "Beyond The Great Divide". I wish Mark would sing it with Emmy, it is soooo beautiful as almost all her songs are! :P

Thank you for telling Joko! I'll try to be on time. I perhaps even take off work Friday!

I am busy with a Emmylou Harris story at my forum at Audiocandy.com and posted there also old video's! Tomorrow I hope to finish her story when I add her 2006 Tour with Mark and add news about her new CD and Tour. ;)

Pottel I have download the concert of Manchester from Dime and burned it on a CD! THANK YOU again for mentioning. It didn't come up in my mind to search at Dime, so I would have missed it! :-*

Draad and JOKO, you both were right! The concert yesterday was fantastic! We were lucky to sit left in the 3rd row and could see Emmylou Harris and other band members very well! She sings as good as she does on a CD and she sang MANY songs! There were about 24 songs just like in Manchester, although she sang yesterday some different songs then she did there.

There were some songs I never heard before, but I also recognized a few beautiful songs.
My favourites yesterday were:
- Red Dirt Girl
- Kern River
- Hold On
- Shores Of White Sand
- Not Enough
- Michelangelo

She also sang songs of her CD/DVD All The Roadrunning /Real Live Roadrunning:

Hi Fieneke,

The two band members you are talking about are Phil Madeira and Rickie Simpkins.

Went to see Emmy in Amsterdam yesterday night (closing night of the tour), great performance although the band only really started the engines at Born to run, superb version!
Emmy's voice was as crystal clear and bright as ever, from start to the very end.
And indeed, Morning Bright Stars got me shivers up my spine.

Filming and even taking pictures was not allowed here too, although a few flashes came from somewhere behind me and security did not react to it.

Cheers,
Waldo

Hi Fieneke,

I still have to work out the setlist in detail, but Boulder to Birmingham has not been played in Amsterdam. The setlist is slightly changing night per night (I like that...).

Anyway, Red dirt girl and Love and Happiness were in it.

complete band line up:

Phil Madeira - Keyboards, Accordion, Guitar, Backing Vocals
Colin Linden - Guitars, Mandolin, Backing Vocals
Bryan Owings - Drums
Chris Donahue - Bass, Backing Vocals
Rickie Simpkins - Fiddle, Mandolin, Backing Vocals

Kimmie Rhodes joined on 3 or 4 songs, she was in the entrance hall after the concert, signing her CDs and taking pictures with everyone who wanted to!

Cheers,
Waldo
