My idea of heaven is a place where the Tyne meets the Delta, where folk music meets the blues.

Wow.  That is cool.   Any recordings, perhaps?
But a spoonful of forgiveness
Goes a long, long way
And we all should do our best
To get along

Good luck to these guys, but advertising this as Dire Straits with a picture of MK is extremely misleading by the festival organisers.  :-\

:disbelief Wonder what MK thinks of that! Specially as he said he had no interest in getting back together for anything other than Charity gigs. Maybe the contracts they had have a "Naming rights" clause which allows it if 3 or more past members are present. Maybe the "NEW" axe man (not) J.I. and D.K. can fly in as special guests??  :disbelief  :disbelief The organisers must really be in Dire Straits if they think that a band minus MK could ever be regarded as Dire Straits.

Fact is that if they want get some people they have to refer to Dire Straits but they just can't be billed only as Dire Straits.
MK would never accept that.

Well, maybe something's lost in the translation but this doesn't mention the fact that MK isn't there, nor does it say "former members of Dire Straits".

Do we agree that THIS should be reported to PCM?

It says ... "from the legendary Dire Straits" it doesn't say it IS Dire Straits. And actually they are from the legendary Dire Straits.

That;s why I was asking if something was lost in translation, is that what it actually says in Italian? The original poster that I was referring to was this one, which just says "Dire Straits" and uses the pic of MK from the Money for Nothing album cover.

The link says From .. etc....
The picture on Dusty's post says something different.
Sure I don't know what contracts there are after ending DS, but cannot imagine the name without reference to "former" "members of" or something similar is allowed. But Guy and Danny know Marco so I presume they know about it.
