It would have topped it all off had they shown the Wembley '85 show afterwards instead of the rather depressing, uninspired "Later" show but c'est la vie.

That is exactly what I thought! I would love to have an official release from the Wembley '85 show, it is my absolute all-time-ever-favorite-Dire-Straits-piece!

Just looked at Amazon UK and there are 6 MK/DS albums in the Bestsellers Top 100!

Wow, that is cool! Astonishing! Let's hope we will have a time in the not so far future where we can look at the charts again and search for the NEW album he has done... I really loved the ending of this documentary, touched me really! Great editing with the last verse of Get Lucky and the pictures of Piper. This is something that should be available forever and for everybody!

Also, if nobody beats me to it, I'll try to get the DVD of this uploaded somewhere tomorrow (any suggestions? dime, perhaps?). It's taken directly from the raw .mpg capture, not re-encoded.

First of all, a WELCOME to our new members PortobelloBelle and pipertotheend!
It is great that you joined us and I am sure you will have a great time here with all the news about the man we admire!  

I was able to watch TV yesterday evening and loved the documentary with so many beautiful songs, to see Mark talking about his life and singing and playing in the studio. In my opinion this was one of the best documentaries!

Then I want to say THANK YOU pipertotheend for uploading the videos of the documentary, that was really great! It is a pity that part 3 can't be seen yet, but perhaps we can in future! I already posted the videos at my page at Audiocandy.com and am sure visitors from around the world will like watching as much as I do! And if you look at concerts on video, RLRR DVD is #2 (just behind Crossroads), Alchemy DVD is #7 ! Not too bad, given the fact that Pink Floyd's fabulous "live in Pompeii" is #20 !

I've always wondered where the rest of the show went to.  I mean surely they recorded the whole show, so it must have been on soundboard quality recording at the time?

Also evident is the small cut in TOL at the band intoductions but all in all I totally agree that this is a memorable musical performance.

Yeah, I remember thinking "So Far Away" was song No. 3 on the set list at that time, and Mark was already heavily sweating when he announced "Everybody in?". Ride Across The River from that night must have been fabulous...

Unfortunately, I can't watch Parts 2, 3 or 4 which are all blocked in my country.  Part 1 was so good -- it just made me want MORE   I'll wait for Dime or the tracker, hopefully.

I did upload part 3, but it's been blocked on copyright grounds (those in the U.S. seem to have been blocked from watching parts 2 and 4 as well).
No surprise really, I suppose this was only to be expected.

I'm working on putting it up on another site (dailymotion.com...thanks for the tip Justme) and will post the links here when they finish uploading.
