Pete Seeger
« on: September 30, 2008, 06:47:22 AM »
Pete Seeger was on David Letterman tonight. This man, this legend, is 89 and STILL PERFORMING!! He sang a great little catchy tune and got the audience to join in on the chorus. He looked good, he sounded good, and really seemed to enjoy himself. Imagine if we are so lucky to still have MK performing in 30 years! I had the great good fortune to meet Mr Seeger in the 70s and he spoke at some length with me, very graciously. It was wonderful to see him still vibrant and creative, and certainly did not seem to be a man on the verge of 90. How wonderful.

I think you are quite right, jbaent, altho I can't pick out what recording it might be on. With a career spanning easily 6 decades, it could be on several :).

I recall a very old version in a spanish radio programme dedicate to Pete Seeger, the song sounded a bit like a mix between folk and gospel song and I was all the tune thinking "Why in heaven I know this tune?", near the end I realised what it was!!!!
You might get lucky, now and then
