I had the UK Channel 4 version that cut the percussion solo and end of CE, had adverts and various other omissions like TR, for instance.  I almost wore that BASF tape out!

I had the Channel 4 version too and I must have watched it at least once a day for about a year!   I was totally obsessed with MK at that time - I still am, of course!   :)  Then I found the Veronica version!    :D

Same here. Later that year I also got the complete video broadcast of the Nimes 1992 show..
I had started working as an apprentice at that time, still living at home with my parents, having 90 minutes lunch break every day.. meal on the table, coffee afterwards and watching Dire Straits on VHS... I guess every day for about a year or so... together with a pretty bad recording of Wembley Arena 1985, those were like mantram for me. Great times, being spoiled like this!  :clap

How great it really was to have Basel complete with (a pretty cool heavy fuel) opening credits and a nice complete broadcast without interruption, advertisings, or anything. Those were the days. Would be nice to have that on proper media like DVD or Blu-Ray...
I remember how COOL I thought it was to see all the band bembers for half a second in the prefix, and than, at the very end, as the last one, for a QUARTER of a second, finally, Mark...
I guess I must watch it again.. but wait, only video...  ::)  when was it I got rid of my VCR...
