Read description for details. It's like another load lifted off my shoulder.

That was pretty darn note perfect mate :) terrific work.

I love jamming along to this song because the chord prog is interesting and you can think 'chord riff' over each bar, as well as being true to the melody. It's a great song to practice every 'country' improv lick you possess and try and expand upon.

Nice Chet triplets too foma! such a great album Neck & Neck. :)
I couldn't read your tabs, because PDFs won't load on my iPad... but I know the chord prog very well, and I just don't have time to become Chetesque ;)

Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

Ps - I'm not sure about your difficulty ratings for CA & MK, I think they had everything very much in comfort zone + inspiration by each other ;)

Have you every heard the story of how Elvis tried to cut Guitar Man (it wasn't working out), and rang Jerry Reed for help? Jerry replied to the effect of "that's because no one plays like me, I'll come to the studio and do it..." (Paraphrase)
Gold :)

Yes! I can play this song for ever, that a progression!

I removed difficulty ratings. But anyway, Chet's solo include 7 (seven) critical places which can ruin whole solo if played wrong. Rediculous difficulty, but interesting thing

Very nicely done - great work there. You even nailed the Chet "super lick"!

Re difficulty, certainly correct for such as I. But both Chet & Mark studied hard core jazz theory before this collaboration, and the live YouTube vid shows just how relaxed they appeared rolling out those scales and licks.

I also agree about the Chet v MK solos, that's why we all love Mark, his often restrained licks (especially the ones that flow through two or more chords - my favourite example of this is the amazing solo in Once upon a Time in the West, where the average listener barely discerns any chord changes but the notes roll like gentle waves over them)
Chet was a little more 'old school' fast triplet scales, modes, without total emotional impact (as Bruce Lee once explained it lol)!

You're vid is amazing mate, I don't want to take anything away from it by over analysing, amazing work - very enjoyable. Do you play in a band, or get out and perform?

great great great work  :)

I don't have time now to look at your tab, but I surely will later, as I love this tune.

I think I know the chord progression, but I must look deeper...

just a technical detail : how did you record this ? I mean you used a basic baking track ? a clic ? both ? thanks

totally agree, and that's why I like less the 91-92 era, because he play lot of speed licks, and sometimes too much notes imho (Calling elvis, Planet of New Orleans, etc...) , but it's alos due to the overall band sounding at this time
