Let us know which 5 songs you would pick from the Tracker album for the Tracker tour and why.

Personally I would pick:

1. Oklahoma Ponies: the song is so much fun and would be great as opener or as second song on the playlist. Great song to stir up the crowd imho. Like Cannibals and Walk Of Life.
2. Lights Of Taormina: just because of the sheer beauty of this song. Personally i think we even get a better version of this song from one of the USB sticks. Like we got for example with Border Reiver (Paris) and I Dug Up A Diamond (Antwerpen)
3. Beryl: would be a great replacement of Sultans of Swing and hopefully with an extended guitarsolo
4. Skydiver: personally I think this song will do very well in a live enviroment.
5. Laughs and Jokes and Drinks and Smokes: this song has a pirate/sailor song feeling to it, which you often hear in Pirate movies. Think it is a nice kinda sing-a-long tune. Besides I like a different time signature then 4/4 now and then. I already see the crowd with their arms in the air going from left to right and back again and singing "Laughs and Jokes and Drinks and Smokes".

Remember by picking your tunes that the "dynamic" of the living room is different then that of a concert hall.

I would most certainly pick the same as you Guitarman having played them with a 'concert hal'l effect on the stereo and headphones too..(Headphones were a great experience for the whole album)
Oklahoma Ponies to open the show - yes pleaseeeee!! :clap

Laughs and jokes and drinks and smokes is most certainly styled as a sea shanty.....

I would love to hear
-Loves and Jokes and Drinks and Smokes (as opener)
-River Towns (after Sultans)
-Broken Bones (extended with a little solo, like he did with Gator Blood)

And that's it. I love this album, really deeply, as an album, and I do not care about what will played live because the album is so perfect. Of course the Ponies would been phantastic, but how realistic is that?

Beryl is a nice tune, but a little bit too short to play it live, I do not know how he should extend that one, little break maybe like in Cannibals to introduce the band. But I guess that one will be reserved for Postcards.

Yeah, guitarman. These would be good live.
Additionally I can also imagine Broken Bones (because of the handclapping), Terminal of tribute to (it's a must / my vision: the audience is joining Guy at the end on the background vocals Ter-Mi-Nal-Of-Tri-Butes-TO: will never gonna happen, what a pity!), Hot Dog (like Imelda)

Hey, thanks for pointing out what Guy is singing there. Hadn't noticed.

I added a poll folks! You can submit your 5 songs there.  :D

Love Expresso you still want to hear Sultans after all these shows? Wouldn't Beryl with extended guitar solo be a good replacement?

Guitarman, I was more referring to the audience's mood after Sultans. No other song has that kind of explosion afterwards. And then, a nice little relaxed  song would be nice - like Mark did already in 1992 with Your Latest Trick for example. The Sultans idea of Beryl is obvious, but it has to be pushed up a little more epically to reach that position.

I think the pace (singing and playing) of Beryl is too fast to perform on stage.

Beryl live?  Why?  There are so many better songs on the album.

Why so few votes for Basil?  This is probably the finest quality song on the album and has a beautifully haunting guitar, reminiscent of HFB.  The fade-out at the end means this is just crying out for a live rendition.

Apart from that I think most of us appear to be in the same ballpark.
