Neil Diamond announced his retirement from touring and his March tour dates for Australia and New Zealand are cancelled. Sad news, but it's mean that Richard Bennett is free from his obligation to Neil.

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-42784305

but John McCusker has a tour planned for june-august yet. And what's more important MK has not planned any tour for that dates.
You might get lucky, now and then

Our friends from South America only had a chance to see MK once in their life, in 2001... They need another one!

Thanks for your support, amigo:)
Why the change from raposo to fox Eddie?

Somehow I have the feeling the next album will be a less folkie album, when I look at the pictures of the 2017 studio diary. Many synths/keys and alot of electric guitars (gibsons & strats).

Especially the Synths are unusual, you are absolutely right. I also hope for something that maybe gives more room for the "new old" Les Paul. Stuff like Don't You Get It, Gravy Train, Vic and Ray, Silvertown Blues, Sucker Row, Long Highway ...

Not really willing to step into Legacy territory once again but maybe this whole tribute issue encouraged Mark to revisit his DS roots in terms of songwriting.

I don't think so. I'd say that the tribute issue is done for him with his song "Terminal Of Tribute To". If he revisit his DS past would be because he wants to, not because there are tribute bands using the name.

You're right but sometimes it's not a conscious choice. As a songwriter (not comparing myself to Mark of course) I can say that there's no logic to that. When I say it might have encouraged Mark to revisit his roots I mean that in case he's written songs that were subconsciously influenced by this situation or just happen to be DS-like he might not discard them as he would before these events. Perhaps Beryl is an example...

Is true that MK sometimes had written more than one song about the same thing, like about the Elvis manager (Back to Tupelo/Gator blood) but when MK was asked about those tribute bands with ex members he just said a polite "Poor souls" and wrote a song about it that it was hidden in the special editions... I'd say that is a matter that he doesn't feel it deserve more attention than the song he already wrote and released...

I have the hope that anything folkie in his head had gone into the secret project and the material for his new solo record could be more upbeat but I won't bet that that situation you mention made him, subsconsciously or not, influence him about his new material... he's more a kind of person who gets imspired by a pair of shoes  in a shop LOL

No, no! I don't mean he'll write lyrics about tribute bands again, god forbid lol I'm talking about music style, songs that you listen and think they could be from Communique or Love Over Gold, for example.
