Two hours long... Anything from the musical or just the score?

Yes around 30 Min there is the only piece of new music, before that there are only snippets from the old soundtrack. It seems pretty obvious that this piece is "Get a move on" from Act II.

When I first heard about MK doing a Musical I thought "oh noo.. why on Earth is he wasting his precious time with such  bullnonsense??"  I had a pretty clear idea of "falling-down-the-stairs" type of music in my mind, or feared it to be like that, with many people singing loud and energetic, to be more precise, well, like what you expect when hearing the word " Musical", something I totally cannot relate to at all.
Well, this little song in here sounds exactly like that ...
I was expecting the worst so I cannot be disappointed. It's just annoying that the work for THIS kind of stuff, as a by-product, lead also to his worst album so far. He should have said No! like so many times before and concentrate on one thing properly. Sad.

Many thanks to Hola for finding this and making it available.

I'm quite surprised about all this negativity from you, not about the musical, but about the record...

Obviously music is about taste, and I'm really sorry you don't like the new record. I love it.

The musical, I take it as a very different thing in which MK is new and it looks like he's doing it well, "cheerio away ye go" sounds very MK but in the musical context, which I think means he did it right!

I think musicals are the sort of thing you enjoy more when you are actually there in the theatre.  It's really about the energy from the stage and connecting with the actors.  In that sense I'm not really fussed about an album from the musical as it won't touch the experience of actually being there and I can't wait until going to see it tonight!

Exactly. The songs of a musical have to be valued in the context of the theatre because they are written to fill in that context.

Enjoy it, dmg, and feel free (please) to open a new thread with the spoiler warning. If you buy the programme, pictures would be welcomed too :)

Musical is a different story. And a new experience for MK. In addition to the ballad there must also be songs for fun, joy etc.
I know the way I can see by the moonlight
Clear as the day
Now come on woman, come follow me home
