BIA version Sidney 1986. 2 tips
« on: April 24, 2019, 02:05:03 AM »

At 3.13 and 4.12 the same notes. Mark duplicated it. He havent done it before or after. I guess he confused.
At 4.37 he missed a string at the cord.
This version is one of the greatest.
Just to see these 2 misses.
The one at 3.13 y 4.12 is a repetition

It seems obvious to me that the guitar parts in BiA on stage are mostly improvisation. I think Mark starts with 'that first three notes' everybody expects, and all the rest is spontaneous improvisation, or following a vague melody in your head. Most is just 'standard minor pentatonic stuff in G#m', easy stuff to play for guitar players.

This way it easily happens that you play similar licks again, the fingers and the melody in your head are in some auto-pilot mode

I think your exactly correct Ingo, it just happens that Mark has wonderful note selection, and his playing at touch is so emotional.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.
