Newcastle 89 vinyl
« on: October 03, 2019, 11:54:11 AM »
Just for collectors:

There is a new bootleg lp of Dire Straits, of the famous benefic concert of Newcastle 89, which was the last concert of Terry Williams with the band, and with very rare songs like "twisting by the pool", "calypso so far away" and "nadine".

There are two different editions, one with the green vinyl and other with the blue vinyl.

This seller has many copies but I don't know why list them one by one, so if you try and it's sold, keep trying as he would put more on sale, or search another sellers:

If you buy both versions, this seller does a special price for both (I already ordered this one!)

The same seller has the MK and Dylan compilation, and the "more bbc sessions" cds

Just in case any of you is a collector and interested on them.

Just received the two copies, one with green vinyl and the other clear blue.

The clear blue is beautiful! It's so clear that is almost transparent, really really beautiful.

It's sounds quite nice too, I'd say a bit better than enlight remaster but that's just my opinion, of course.

I also like that it has three pictures of the Newcastle 89 gig! Very rare in a bootleg.

I just pre-ordered a copy here:
https://rock-rarities-collectors.onlineweb.shop/DIRE_STRAITS_-_ONE_NIGHT_ONLY_-_NEWCASTLE__89__-_RARE_COLOURED_LP/p5499132_20083921.aspx

Looks like this shop is not working right now... Did they close?

I believe that, by selling unofficial and therefore illegal material, they open and close sites very often... In any case, my copy bought from them arrived today.

Thanks.  Nice to see some pictures from this show.  Interesting that Brendan was playing guitar too.  Terry's last show also.

Yes... that was the last DS concert with the classic line up, before the "proffesionals" (Phil Palmer, Paul Franklin, Chris Whitten, Danny Cummings...all session players hired for the job and wave good bye)
