Listening to the show now. I like this one better. Mark's seems a bit more into it, and the music is more interesting to me. And actually I like the fact that he isn't talking a lot. The playlist gives us a unique insight into his soul as it were. No need to explain anything.

It's quite rare to find people with great music taste, so I'm happy Mark is one of them! I knew it, but this show cemented this fact for me. I love the fact there's so many young artists on his jukebox, as opposed to Bob Dylan, who've seemingly played dinosaur's music only on his show. The newer the music, the more dividing it can be so I understand people who dislike some of the tracks, but the fact is MK recommends good music, and I'm happy with that. More, please!

I like Lydia Lunch's song, what a wonderfully out of tune singing, I wonder if this song can kill a man with perfect pitch :lol
But I just can't imagine how this song would sound in New York in the 80s, I think it sounded great, and it still sounds great.

Michael McGoldrick has also recorded "Waterbound".   I like it very much!

His music taste really is varied and cool! The songs are much more varied than I thought. Of course there are songs that I won't listen to more than once, but I fell for Bambinos' Amidinine straight away. And I love to hear him read out lyrics that he likes  8)

Fantastic music and album. Reminds me of Ali Farka Touré.

And that guitar sound! Mark should pay attention he-he

I really dig Yo La Tengo now, which Mark skipped for 20 years himself. Man, second episode in and already a dozen of new discoveries. Mark, don't stop! Please!

oh man, such an gem to have him do this! Who would've thought this would happen, Mark Knopfler having his own radio show at 70?
Such a great thing to have insight in the music taste of the man whose music we all listen to a lot. I'm digging this show!

Interesting to notice how little the guitar features in these songs. Mark is becoming Guitar George.

He's over 70.  He must be living at BG by now!

The BBC have stopped filming of some TV shows such as East Enders and Casualty (ironically) so it may happen.

I thought BGB is not live? From what I understand the program was recorded already and the "show" itself is the edited thing like an audiobook or something.
