Radioshows on Vinyl
« on: April 08, 2021, 11:25:27 AM »
Hello to all Vinyl-maniacs. :wave
Does somebody here also collect Dire Straits-Mark Knopfler Radioshows on Vinyl ?? I do.
I have some King Bisquit Flower Hour, BBC-Rock-Hour, Masters of Rock, Westwood One Radio Network, Superstars in Concert by Westwood One and so so on. Radioshows offer sometimes interesting interviews with the artists, Studio or well produced Live-Recordings. Funny are also the old radio-advertisement-spots on it. I also collect Radio-Shows on CD-Sets, but NOT the CD-R versions.
Here are some pics. 8)
For those who are not familiar with Radio-Shows. That are specially produced Vinyls or CDs with Interview- and Music-content by a Band, a Star, or as a compilation with different artists to a special topic. You can say it is a complete radio-programme on Vinyl or CD for Air-Play only. Those records aren´t for sale regulary, because they have also a Promotional-Record status. They were produced for Radio-Stations and Music-Archives only. That makes it interesting for collecting such records.

A further 4-LP-Set Radioshow by King Bisquit Flower Hour with the San Antonio gig 1985.
Produced in best sound-quality for Radio-Airplay through DIR ABC-Rock-Radio-Network
Played on US-Radio in November 1985
In the next days i will receive another Radio-Show on 2-LP-Set with Cue-Sheets, which was unknown to me. A NBC-Radioshow called Profile.  :thumbsup :thumbsup

Today it arrives at my home.
Dire Straits - Profile ´86 2-LP-Set with Cue-Sheet, 1986 released by NBC-Radio-Entertainment. I never knew that show, so it was a big surprise to discover it online.
Feat. the well known tunes and portions of interviews by Mark, John Illsley and Ed Bicknell.  :thumbsup 8)
PS: I catalogized it on Discogs in the Dire Straits column.

H jbaent. Yes, thanks. I got them from a dutch seller on ebay eu. ;)
In the moment, there ist nothing very special or very thrilling items for me on ebay, but, maybe in the next time, i´m still hoping, that there are coming some cool items. I´m still waiting for an US promo-cd by John Illsley and an Australian original ticket from February 1986, from BIA-Worldtour in Melbourne.  8) I also have contact with a trader on discogs, on the subject of Turkish issues of Dire Straits vinyls. I only have BIA as Turkey edition on blue-silver Philips label. Manufactured in Instanbul trough Plaksan pressing plant.

Hi Frelon94, cool. Radioshows are very intresting records. I also collect them on CDs, but NOT that CD-R stuff, but the factorypressed original CDs only. Most of them were pressed in the USA through Metatech American Systems.
