No, I didn't get the Early Years or Later Years, but one of them is the new A Momentary Lapse of Reason released tomorrow. My wife bought us a 2 night hotel stay in Harrogate (I was born there) for next year. Lots os chocolate, I am a chocoholic  vouchers for Amazon, which have all gone on music, The Beatles, John Lennon, Pink Floyd and Mike Oldfield, yes, I am predictable, but I know what I like, plus, some nice new clothes. All in all, I was very happy. Looking forward, I have asked for the Mark Knopfler Gin for Christmas too

Unfortunately, Betty's don't take bookings.  It's a case of first in first served.   Betty's also have a restaurant at Harlow Carr RHS Gardens, which is really beautiful and just up the road from the one in the town centre.  It's well worth a visit as it has a great shop and garden centre too.

When I was in York a couple of years ago on holiday it was Betty's every day for me.  Lovely places to eat.

When I was in York a couple of years ago on holiday it was Betty's every day for me.  Lovely places to eat.

The Harlow Carr restaurant is really beautiful.  We tend to go there for our birthday lunches and a walk around the gardens. 

I remember when we first came to live in Yorkshire, we went to York for the day and were looking for a nice place to eat.  We asked a lady if she could recommend somewhere and she said Betty's.   We hadn't heard of it before and to us it sounded like a greasy spoon cafe, so when we found it we were very pleasantly surprised!
