Hi, in 2019 DSL came to argentina and I had the chance to See Alan Clark, Phil Palmer, and the great Jack sonni
As I was sitting in the 2nd row close to the stage I noticed that AC at the beginning  of prívate investigations performed several noises , the ones you listen at the beginning of the song when it is live gig
Apart from his regular keyboard arrangememts he uses his vocal cords to add more Unique sound. I mean some methalic sounds
I Guess, he has been doing so since the 80s, but, that was the first time I saw him live. Does he regularly do so ?

I guess you mean the marimba sounds? or sounds with his mouth?

I think that's called the "Talk box" or something like that, that effect was very famous by Peter Frampton playing guitar with that tube in his mouth, also Joe Walsh and David Gilmour used it.

Maybe Ybot means Alan doing noises with his mouth, not putting anything on his mouth like this examples.

It is more like Gilmore.
I have only seen him at the intro of private investigations
