Wow, what a great 4-word analysis of Mark's playing from David :lol Honestly, it was pretty predictable and not as dramatic as somebody would want to. Just a couple of nice words about MK from David and a big essay on this from some journalist. As if we needed a reminder to know that Mark is an amazing guitar player.

I really don't see the common ground.

I really don't see the common ground.

They are both white male in their seventies playing the guitar... ah and they are British.

Joke aside, I love them both each in his own musical world but they are indeed truly worlds apart when music is concerned.

I'd rather hear a Santana guitar solo on the 2019 version of Paraguay than hear Gilmour on say Romeo and Juliet or Sultans.
Maybe Gilmour could do something on Brothers in Arms, there is something in the theme of the song and its mood that can be reminiscent of Pink Floyd but I can't imagine MK's style on any of Pink Floyd songs.

But for example, in reviews of The Division Bell album, the name Dire Straits sometimes appears.

Honestly, I also can't see a common ground for their musical collaboration, but I would love to see the two speaking about music in an interview/podcast/radio format.

I love them so much as individual lead players that I’m not sure I’d actually want to hear a collaboration between them both.
A conversation between them would be epic though.

I would to hear MK guitar on the new album by Robert Plant. They have a lot in common. They see many things in the same way.
