I still love to watch Eric and Mark play the stripped back version of Layla, and Mark's solo was amazing.

Love everything about this particular version of Layla. The joy the two have playing together. Mark's beautiful, understated accompaniment and solo. And I generally don't like acoustic Layla.

Anytime this scenario was reversed and Eric played on one of Mark's songs (or a DS song) you almost always got really strong playing from Eric as well. Which is (unfortunately) the rule of thumb with him: Eric has to be pushed by another player he respects or he would fall into ruts really quickly.

I think most musicians would be thrilled to play The Beatles with a Beatle, although Mark had played with Paul before. I bet Guy was thrilled too. But to be able to play in the 3 man guitar jam at 4:05 must have been great for Mark, I am sure Paul has huge respect for Mark as a performer and songwriter.

Mark played a nice little solo on Get Back at the Prince's Trust Concert 1986 with McCartney and co.

I can't remember if it was Get Back or not, but at one of those shows, Mark pulled off a great solo, with Paul on stage next to him watching, he then pointed to Mark and it looks like he says "You the man"

I love Mark soloing on Beatles songs. I’m not sure I’d like him singing them but his guitar on them is fab.

I agree, I much prefer Mark's work to Gary Moore on the Let It Be charity single.
