The amazing thing is that it's kind of like a prog album with the longer songs, but released in the 80s when that type of thing was dead and buried and prog bands like Genesis, Pink Floyd and Yes were releasing snappy pop singles.

Yes and no. There was also Marillion and neo progressive rock in the 80's has some beautiful and important albums.

Yes and no. There was also Marillion and neo progressive rock in the 80's has some beautiful and important albums.

There's always the odd exception but for the most part prog was gone, even Marillion were best known by the masses for their pop singles.

DS were always out of fashion : they started with their laid-back-country-blues-clean-sound during punk era, and then played prog influenced music (both in studio and on stage) during new wave / FM rock period in first mid eighties
