I get it, but this is also a golden time to be an MK fan:

The auction (including viewing for us lucky ones).

The auction catalogue which is magnificent.

The Going Home single.

New album PLUS bonus PLUS vinyl bonus PLUS EP - 25 new songs?!!

The new TV show - six full hours!

So really we are being very spoiled by a soon to be 75 year old man and we should be very happy :)

Oh yes, I completely agree. My friend said this is the year of Mark Knopfler  :)

Oh yes!
I've just found a beautiful gem interview on youtube, from around that time. Someone must have put it through some filter, better quality now: .

You are absolutely right of course. It‘s great to be that spoiled with new stuff and that MK is still active. But it doesn‘t beat the atmosphere of a live concert. Sigh. As I said, I still have to get used to that fact. I‘m a bit in denial still and a part of me hopes for a little miracle, i.e. some mini shows in London. One can dream…

What he should do is to shoot a live recording of some songs in the studio. They could take their time and do multiple takes, and release whatever sounds good. That would avoid the challenge of nailing songs before an audience.
