Alchemy 40 years ago today
« on: March 16, 2024, 10:01:27 AM »
Just 40 years ago today, on March 16 1984, Dire Straits' live album "Alchemy" hit the stores.

Read my review published last year on the anniversary of the recording of the concert, which took place on July 23, 1983, at London's Hammersmith Odeon.

no, the entire recording is from the 23th july 83,  EXCEPT the final break on solid rock which is from 22th, because Terry missed it on the 23th

Thanks JF! Very nice read!
Omg, those memories of cassettes and videotapes, tight jeans and white trainers... musically, the eighties were the best decade ever, and no live recording will ever be better than Alchemy, for me.
