Good Segue
« on: March 25, 2024, 11:46:30 AM »
What are some of your favourite live segues from Dire Straits or MK live? I really like the Calypso segue into So Far Away, the segue from Father and Son into Golden Heart, the segue Father and Son into Hill Farmers Blues, the segue Last Exit to Brooklyn into Romeo & Juliet. Anyone else have any favourites?
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Gotta low any segues, I think it's a staple of live performances. Far better than just ending a song and beginning a new one. Boring! :lol

I had an idea of doing a cover of How Long that would transition into Wild West End because songs are in the same key and Wild West End is almost 2 times as slow, so I know it would be a smooth transition. But I never got to the realisation of this idea, like dozens of others.

This is the best. It's just ambling along and then two notes are played and you instantly know what is coming :)

And what about the classic Romeo/Love over gold, or Portobello/Tunnel?

Does that long intro to Tunnel of Love count (like on Alchemy)? That's just an incredible piece of music.
