Yes- a bit selfish of me perhaps calling it a happy ending! Sorry!
Do they still have your coat there?

Haha no worries - was only joking. It's my own fault for not checking the coat properly and again sorry it has caused you some inconvenience.

I've called them and they have it safe. I just have to make another trip to London now though!! Do you think they'll let me sit on the sofas and listen to the whole album from start to finish!? :)

I will thank the management again for this opportunity on behalf of you and all AMIT'ers.

Thank you for doing this and thank you for managing this here on the forum now for the BIA40 and last year for the ODR event.
We could only have dreamt about such an opportunity in former times.

Oh gosh those sofas looked very comfy indeed. I actually helped clear the room and put chairs away after the event.

I spoke briefly to a very pleasant chap who was responsible for managing the Universal Music archive (what a job!)
I don’t suppose the archive manager told you anything interesting, like if any DS material was lost in the 2008 Universal fire for instance?

After all the talk on this forum of “where are the tapes”, it's funny that you ended up chatting with “the chap with the tapes”! (Possibly, maybe, hopefully)

A small piece of footage has gone up on the DS FB page from the event. I think it was from the first event though.

A more handsome, aesthetically pleasing crowd than the second conversation huh?  ;D :D

Ah what a shame. Would have loved to have attended. A few questions i'd have liked to have asked:

- From a keyboard / synth perspective who played what in terms of Guy and Alan?
- How many tracks did Terry record before he was booted out for Omar Hakim?
- What was the vibe amongst the band after Terry was sent to the runway? (I suspect they got lucky as Terry was a very affable guy, and handled it well.)
- Did Hal Lindes contribute to BIA before he was sacked/asked to leave?
- When EXACTLY did Jack Sonni (RIP) join the sessions? He apparently contributed to arguably the greatest song off the album The Man's Too Big....
- Why was Neil Jason brought in to play One World? I appreciate there's some slap bass/funk stuff going on....Tony Levin as well apparently featured on Why Worry. Impressive that Illsley played on RATR. Superb.
- Any other tracks recording during the sessions?

The mentioning of Tony Levin would have made John telling the story from his jogging accident. All other questions I am sure would have never given the answers you are hoping for.

I think we have answers to most of these don't we?

Jack gave details on when he joined, wasn't it right after Christmas 1984?

Neil Jason/Tony Levin, John hurt himself jogging, official line anyway.

Terry had recorded all tracks but deemed unsatisfactory and all wiped except intro to MFN.

No other tracks hence Walk of Life had to be used as a B-side on the first single.

wonder why no one mentioned John saying he has acetates of the waldorf show (31.3.79 was it?) ????
wonder if more songs are on that as to the age old bootleg that exists for that show...
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....
