Songs that bring to mind, MK's compositions
« on: June 13, 2025, 12:59:50 AM »
I listen to a lot of music every day and I find that in either songs that are new to me, or old songs that seemed familiar, something clicks and I make connections with MK's compositions.
I think that many people experience this, so nothing new, but it would be wonderful to read how each brain connects the dots.
An example would be this: I was listening to my favourite Patti Smith record, Easter, when for the first time it clicked MFN:

Then it is this more obvious snippet of Siouxsie:

And no need to say about the intro of Sledgehammer

Come on, it is not funny anymore.

Peter Gabriel must have heard "Ride Across The River"   ;)
I know the way I can see by the moonlight
Clear as the day
Now come on woman, come follow me home

Eh... can't hear the first two to be honest.

With Sledgehammer, it seems like that pan pipe sound was everywhere in the mid 80s, but I can't actually think of any other examples right now :)

@dustyvalentino
It is not supposed to be a note or note thing. It is more of a nudge in the brain of a DS maniac. I do not expect to work with everybody, or at all times even.
I just think it is funny how the mind points to a certain direction given random stimuli. It is this that interests me, rather than the actual similarities.
The part of MFN reminiscent at -15% of the actual speed is this https://youtu.be/wneStosrfU8?si=_hpXXz5OaABX72LN&t=282
Siouxie general mood and specific descending motive reminded me of Why worry.
The Gabriel one is the exact same with Ride across the river. Not just pipes, otherwise Zamfir would have been my go to guy. By the way Camel are great even after their heyday.

Come on, it is not funny anymore.
