Joan, I was thinking the same about the  two performers being female.  Will be an interesting question to ask Mark.

Here's some additional information about Pieta Brown.  She is the daughter of Greg Brown, an accomplished singer-songwriter (link attached).  Perhaps this is the MK connection .....

It's hard sometimes but pretty much it's alright

Didn't he say in an interview about Ragpicker's Dream/Old Pigweed that he prefers to listen to female singers?
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.

My idea of heaven is a place where the Tyne meets the Delta, where folk music meets the blues.

She has a lovely voice and is a pleasant sort of girl.   She's also pretty.   Bo Ramsey is a good guitarist, but silly.   His rockin' days are over, but he sure tries hard.   Some one yelled "Bo Baby"  during one of his solo parts, and he grinned as wide as a human can, then played and hammed it up for that person for a while.    ;)
But a spoonful of forgiveness
Goes a long, long way
And we all should do our best

About his hat:   forgive me for being  smart ass.   That high crown was designed to keep the head cooler with air, and the brim was designed wide to keep the sun and the rain off the neck.    Rolling it in certain ways would cause the rain to run off outside, not right down a person's neck.   The brim was also useful for shade.    All of these are important when you are riding for days in Nevada country gathering cattle.
Bo's hat is strictkly a cosmetic stage contraption.     I think he took it from Little Jimmy Dickens, who needed a tall hat indeed.        No self respecting cattleman would roll a hat that way.
