Tour debut for "Girl From The North Country", "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat" is back in the opening slot, return of "Tryin' To Get To Heaven", "Highway 61 Revisited", and "Simple Twist Of Fate", plus the second "Desolation Row" and "Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum" of the tour (both last played on July 18 in Phoenix), not to mention the seventh "Mississippi" in a row.
Dropped from previous show: "Blowin' In The Wind", "Forgetful Heart", "High Water (for Charlie Patton)", "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue", "Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35", and "Sugar Baby".
This show featured the Carolina Chocolate Drops as the support act instead of Leon Russell, which may be the reason Dylan's set was slightly longer than usual.
I spoke with Dom Flemons of the Chocolate Drops earlier today over the phone, and he told me that the response from people has been "really enthusiastic. People know I've been into Dylan for years, and now it's come full circle. Hopefully we'll get to meet Bob, but I'm not expecting to. His privacy is legendary." (Look for the complete interview soon in Bob Dylan Examiner.)
