The live versions on the deluxe set sound so much better than the studio versions do.

Actually, if they are "unmixed" and direct feed from the sound desk... These are really good recordings...

Indeed.
I am really angry that the CD is so short... they could have released WII, Marbletown, Speedway, BIA, SFA, Privateering, Haul Away...

Maybe a live album is on it's way. MK.com states that no recordings allowed, but of course it is probably because of Bob. Which by the way and despite this restriction, is one of the most bootleged artists ever!!!
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

Btw, has the "unmixed" recording of "What it is" from the rehearsal already seen the light of the day? I thought it to be included in the Japanese edtion of "Privateering".
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.

I wouldn't expect any live album from now on.  The re-release of Alchemy on BD was an indication to me that that is all we are going to get in the way of live material from the MK camp.  Any new live performances would only damage his reputation;  I guess that's why Mark wanted TR removed from the Madrid download.  He could have removed the pedestrian and slackly played Sultans too. ::)
"...and I blew up the radio in pretty short order."

dmg, I don't even care, but you are very sarcasticly funny! But for argument's shake I think that TR was removed because the Simfy owners would feel somehow robbed if everybody else got the same recording without paying what they have paid.
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

These past 2 weeks I listened to nothing except the recordings from the tour.  A few days ago, I decided to listen to "privateering" album, I still love it. But Live versions of the songs are so much more alive. It's kind of hard to go back to listening to the album.  I think songs like ' Go Love, Bluebird, blood and water will sound really wonderful LIVE.

After more than a month, my favourite songs of the record are still I uset to could, redbud tree and the blues songs.

But, it will not be remain for me as a great album.
The other day, I played On Everyt Street on my Hi-Fi just after Privateering (I didn't listen OES since a long time) and I realised how I'm more a "DS music" fan than a "MK music" fan.

I also bought the new record of another old band : La Futura by ZZ Top.
They came back to the roots of their sound and this is a great.

I've had over a month now to listen to Privateering. I have to admit that I like it much more than I did when I first heard it. But I'm still left with the feeling that I've heard these songs before on other MK albums. Of all of Mark's albums Privateering is still my least favorite. One reason being  that there is nothing original about it.The music sounds recycled to me and the lyrics too light.Yet when I heard a few of these songs live they sound very different and much better. I don't think that the production put enough life into these songs.
