I have a suspicion that MK doesn't like being officially filmed.  His live performances are wonderful - even better than in the studio imo, but somehow when he is in front of a camera he seems to be really inhibited and his playing is rather safe and polite.  Perhaps he didn't like the result of the recording?   Which begs the question, why did he allow the terrible AVO concert to be aired?   :think

I think you've hit on something there Val.  His performances on live broadcasts have always been on the "safe" side IMO too.  Left to his own devices so to speak he can perform much better and relaxed, experimenting more.

They did do stop-start edits live during the show, so there's really no excuse.

According to Guy in his forum, the BBC concert IS NOT going to be aired.

He doesn't give any reason to it.

Never been too much impressed by the idea of a "faked" live show with start-stop-edits anyway. The real shame is that not one of the Privateering shows at all these beautiful Italian venues has been filmed and released as a blu-ray... This is a loss I can live with perfectly well to be honest...

Or maybe it will not be aired because it is clear now that they will release it as a dvd...  :wave

How most dissapointing to have read the above! Not sure about a dvd/blu-ray either to be honest.
Totally agree that MK does not like being filmed and I guess we have to all agree that all we will get (although fantastic as they are) is the sound sticks from each concert instead...... :wave

As LE said I think we expressed our displeasure at the faked live show at the time and also the lost opportunities of all the great shows and venues MK played, surely they could have recorded a few shows.

but at least, a MK show recorded live for a tv, with audience, would be more than nothing...

Why go to all the trouble off recording a show in the middle off a tour for tv and at the end the concert will not be on the air????
I wonder also what this will cost?? Does not make any sense does it??????

Maybe it ends up as a bonus disc for the upcoming album?

Yes but, apparently it was recorded by the BBC, so probably paid by the BBC. It doesnt makes sense that they dont broadcast it... Unless MK & PCM paid the BBC for it, just for the dvd.

I've sent a polite message to the appropriate department at the BBC to see if I can find out what's happening with this. I'll let you know if I get a response.
