Wherever I Go (Mark Knopfler)

LYRICS

Maybe I’m bound to wander
From one place to the next
Heaven knows why
But in the wild blue yonder
Your star is fixed in my sky

Just another bar at a crossroads
So far from home
But that’s alright
Whenever I’m going down a dark road
I don’t feel alone in the night

There’s a place in my heart
Though we’re far apart
May you always know
No matter how long since I saw you
I’ll keep a flame there for you
Wherever I go

They’re looking to close up in here
They’re pulling down the blinds
But they’ll let you stay awhile
They’re not going to mind

Now I’ve got to leave you, brother
So this round’s mine
Here’s looking at you, anyhow
You can go on and have another
They won’t call time
I’m going to say my goodbyes now

There’s a place in my heart
Though we’re far apart
May you always know
No matter how long since I saw you
I’ll keep a flame there for you
Wherever I go

Like the idea a lot, but unfortunately not the song.

I think I need to listen a few more times, but it doesn't jump out at me immediately as a great song - it's a bit too slow and disjointed, but these sort of songs are often the ones that have a longer life!    :think

Sadly I do not want so much to listen this song again, but maybe with video it would be another experience. Ending solos is great though, but overall...

..... however, having listened to it three times, I am definitely warming to it - it's a grower, which is good news, for me!   ;)   It's a beautiful melody and I love the solos!   :)

Yes indeed, I know somebody will write soon 'I will listen it on my turntable when album will out and in that way it will sound gorgeous' :)

It's of course genuine and great song, but let's take it honestly, when you listened 'In The Sky' for the last time? I did it around year ago.

Well, actually, I have an extremely long playlist of all my favourite songs from MK, or which are MK connected and "In The Sky" comes round on a regular basis and I love it, especially the "La, la , la , la" bit!   ;D

Never liked Ruth Moody and her voice sorry to say. Plus Sax I don't like either, it's so 80's. His singing is as "energetic" as on What A Wonderful World. The rest is just another In The Sky indeed.
So no I don't like it at all. But no problem, there is always one track or the other on every album that's not my cup of tea. Really nothing new here. Guitar vs. Sax same as on In The Sky..

I only wonder what that Review meant by calling this duet Celtic or what was he saying..
