Makes me smile when the rest of the band join in the chorus in a very 'sea shanty' style!!

Mark mentions in the video that the decision to have the band join in the chorus came about because they were in the studio when he recorded it. Makes me wonder if it was a spontaneous thing that he liked and decided to keep? :think

And yes, I really hope it is a concert opener.  I can imagine the crowd joining in by the end of the song!

And the playing out of the song (when Mike starts his wood flute solo) is perfect for band introduction with little showing off from everyone.. there is a very small part of organ "solo", the bass is already there.. would be great to introduce the band with the first song as he did with Calling Elvis once...
and then, after that, another refrain and then next to Walk Of... ermm.. the next song..  :wave

It is a good song but slightly nervous that when played live it will get the Marbletown treatment! I'm sure Ianto could make his twiddly drumming at the end of the track pad out for at least half an hour, watched in great detail by every band member smiling intensely and the audience just waiting for a new track!

In that case it would be ok with me if Marbletown was replaced by Laughs And Jokes.

This song must be my favourite so far because it's so personal. The melody seems to be recycled from other tracks (as is the case on ALL tracker songs) but I still like it. I'd rather see this one for an encore than an opener.

Yes, I thought that would surprise you!   :lol     I'm ready to move on now, because I think Marbletown has been played enough and there are other songs on the new album that could fill that niche - "Drinks & Smokes..."   perhaps - or even "Laughs & Jokes" !    ;D

MK explains all in the 24 min interview.   It's because there was a time delay switch at the bottom of the stairs, which gave about 15 seconds to get up the stairs and open the door of the room before the light went out again!    ;D
