This really made my day!! Another MK album, and possibly a tour afterwards!!  ;D

It's a bit funny how long we speculated at what they were working on and now it turns out they were doing the very thing most of us I think really wanted. Maybe it was some kind of a personal joke from Guy to keep us guessing this long  :lol

Can't stop grinning  ;D

Mk news mentions the killers over dubs and working on songs for a future possible release.

BBC news has been full of Glastonbury secrets ... maybe, just maybe, MK or DS even are going to play! Would explain the band sessions and the secrecy as well as lots more will follow afterwards!

Ok so it's possible but don't wait up!

Yes, thanks for the hint, MKNews said that MK "has begun"  to record songs for a possible future release.
However, last November, when that Gibson Guitar video came up, Mark mentioned that the new guitar was immediately used for recording.
Plus in the Tracker video he said, "I come here (BG) to record, not to write".  So he works already longer on recording  new material I guess.

Or maybe that Gibson recording was for that Playtime Deluxe one shot. The video ad recording might have taken place some time before.

I understand that it means that MK writes at home or when touring at the hotel rooms, and only goes to the studio to record the songs properly. Probably has a way to record rough demos at home with a digital recorder or something plugged to his laptop while he's composing at home or touring, and when he gets to the studio, it´s to do the final recording, when he tries guitars, amps and mics, and drinks tea...

Thanks jbaent I know that and it was no question.  I was referring to the line "begun to record" but we know he is at BG with Guy for many many months now so I think he "begun" recordings last year already and not now like MKNews implies.

My mistake, my eyes reads one thing my mind process another one, LOL

I think that MK was working on the super mega fancy misterious project until recently, and the work must be almost finished or very near to complete so he started now to record his own album as well now that the has free time while finishing the other project.

Funny thing is, at the first minutes after hearing that he played for the Tommy Emmanuel duet project, I had hopes that TE played for HIS project... and what it probably would be.. Sultans acoustic and a dream would come true... I phantasized about a Dire Straits Jubilee project where guests play DS classics... and wondered who else would play what.... and thought The Killers doing Romeo & Juliet would be great. .. and now... The Killers show up! Isn't it strange somehow...

I like this idea, it will be very very interesting and it fits with the Guy´s statement that MK wrote all the songs...

I also hope the super mega fancy misterious project is that!

I hate to burst your bubble, but the wording from MK News is less definite.

NEW SONGS: Mark has begun to record new songs for a possible future album release. (11/05/17)

And Guy´s words are:

we are working on TWO projects now, simultaneously and one of them is a new album for Mark

MKNews has to be careful with an announcement like this as it is not the same as an official album release announcement. I bet it is safe to say that we will have another MK solo album.

I don't think MK News and MK management are that close anymore. So they get some info and have to be careful what to write down. I never look at MK news anymore. As soon as Guy is able to say something he will and does., so I rely on him.
