Instruments can indeed point at a certain direction, yes. I might be wrong but I think Mark is playing a semi acoustic Gibson in one of those photos, a guitar that's usually linked to jazzy or bluesy tunes. Of course you can play pretty much anything with a good Strat through a Marshall amp if you have to but having endless options to choose from and all the time in the world allows Mark to be more picky and choose his axes very carefully. Same goes for other instruments.

I just hope it's a diverse album with a bit of everything. I can't handle another KTGC or TRD.

It does not leave me the impression that it will be the most diverse album of MK.

Totally agree with you.
The albums i like the best are GH STP GL and his last one Tracker.  :wave

I agree and don't forget Fare Thee Well Northumberland, You Don't Know You're Born, Devil Baby, Old Pigweed.....in fact the whole album is excellent!   A fantastic album - only surpassed by Tracker!    :)

Funny how we all prefer different albums  ;D

I reeally like privateering (so many great songs - haul away, go love, privateering, bluebird, yon two crows.....) and TRD as well. I would love it to hear why aye man live!

Thank god we are all different  :clap

Having said that, I like TRD. Well, I really like Why Aye Man, Hillfarmer's Blues and A Place Where We Used to Live... I just think it's repetitive.

On the other hand, I can't stand KTGC. That's the very only MK/DS album I NEVER revisit. I not only dislike most of the songs but also find it extremely repetitive and unidimensional.

But yeah, just my own opinion.

I envy you. I can not point to my favorite. Since 1996, everyone has been enjoying with great joy and it is always a special album for me :)

I love Privateering too! My absolute favorite is STP, closely followed by GH, Tracker, Privateering, GL and SL, not in any particular order. TRD comes after and only then KTGC, far behind. When I say far behind I mean Roger Federer to club players behind lol

So true. As mentioned in other places, ktgc, I cannot stand, as far as I remember, there is not one song that ticked any of my boxes
