Sounds like they recorded it in my garage lol I don’t like this approach, too raw and casual to my taste...

Yes, it's probably because the song is in a high key for vocals, MK always sounds weird when sings so high.

I also agree that sounds like a first take.

I can hear that they had fun, though. But thinking about MK and TE, two legendary masters and wizards on the guitar, playing together ... and come up with something like this? Underwhelming to say the least...

I also was waiting for more to be honest, but hey — it's Mark's song, so it's a kind of fair to have something like that.
I also can say that the secret project isn't a MK&TE record, because Mark even refused to film in his studio I suppose.

I like it.
In my opinion he has again tried a slightly different approach at singing and I enjoy seeing him trying new ways.
The simplicity of the theme, the words, the arrangement and the accoustic guitars all fit the song very well.
The song itself is in his current direction of songwriting: less is more.
And I also like the idea: two accomplished guitar players instead of doing something bombastic to show off just do something very simple. Great
By the way: good to hear something new of the man, above all his soothing voice.

I like it, I find it funny, in the "There'll be some changes made" mood, but with less shinning guitar solos... let's say, like the nowadays MK  :lol :lol :lol :lol

That's exactly what I dislike about the Tommy + Chet record, too much of a show off.

Cool song, signature MK lyrics, reminds me of Pulling Down The Ride.

I actually like the tune itself very much and Mark's tipsy singing doesn't bother me at all. My problem with it is that it sounds like a poorly recorded pub performance. I didn't expect anything fancy with long solos or anything like that, just a nice and warm song performed by two legendary musicians and a little band - and a metronome lol can anybody else hear the little, let's say, mistakes that I hear?

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but couldn't what some perceive as "poorly recorded", "little mistakes" or "first take" be done intentionally by the BG perfectionist to correspond with the one they sing about and that needs more than just beauty sleep?
