Having a listen now : (4 Knopfler tracks on Disc 3)
Some nice funky understated rhythm on Gotta Serve Somebody (take 1) , with a large "solo" type gap where you could imagine a solo break being overdubbed, but instead we have Marks clear rhythm part getting slightly funkier, nice but nothing to write home about :) The take itself is great and familiar stylish drumming by Pick!

Ain't No Man Righteous has understated slide guitar but its Becketts piano that is the limelight here. The book lists this as take 6, obviously no inspiration had hit Mark to do anything extra ordinary! There is a slither of a slight slide solo, again nothing special.

Trouble in Mind (take 1 - seems to be different to the take I regularly listen to that has gospel backing singers, which may in fact be a live track in hindsight!) just ordinary rhythm part from Mark.

Ye Shall Be Changed - same take from Bootleg vol3

So .... keep waiting for the Communique/Making Movies rare studio outtakes, no new Mark glories here; but one of the most interesting periods of Dylan history.
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

In my opinion, there are too much live things here, and even in the non concerts ones, there are much more rehearsals and soundchecks for the concerts that studio outtakes.

Studio outtakes would had been great.
You might get lucky, now and then

Its the 'live' experience from this particular era of Dylans performances that makes it so legendary, putting aside any theology. But otherwise I agree, studio outtakes are usually illuminating.

That version makes me think how great would had been a cd with different takes of the songs instead of so much live recordings.
